June 9 to 11 - Jena, Germany
"Welcome to the conference website for the 5th meeting of the International Association for the Study of Affective Touch (IASAT). Since IASAT was founded, research on affective touch has grown exponentially and broadened in scope, encompassing not only psychological, neuroscientific, and engineering studies, but also addressing increasingly sociological questions and topics related to the digitization of touch. We are extremely pleased and proud that the 5th IASAT conference is taking place here in Jena, Germany. The Friedrich Schiller University is one of the oldest universities in Germany, nestled in the heart of the country, surrounded by serene hills. We have prepared an exciting program featuring international keynote speakers who will cover a range of topics including the molecular and neural mechanisms of pleasant touch in mice, the nuances of human self- and interpersonal touch, and questions about how sophisticated fibre technology might mimic or augment the human tactile sense. We now look forward to receiving your submissions for posters, talks, and symposia by January 12th, 2024. We hope to see many of you next year in Jena for a stimulating exchange in a relaxed atmosphere with many cultural and scientific highlights.”
Warm regards, Ilona Croy & Annett Schirmer
